Potassium hydroxide

Potassium hydroxide (chemical formula: KOH, formula weight: 56.11) white powder or flake solid. Melting point 360~406 ℃, boiling point 1320~1324 ℃, relative density 2.044g/cm, flash point 52 ° F, refractive index n20/D1.421, vapor pressure 1mmHg (719 ℃). It is strongly alkaline and corrosive. It can easily absorb moisture in the air and deliquescence, and absorb carbon dioxide to form potassium carbonate. Dissolve in about 0.6 parts hot water, 0.9 parts cold water, 3 parts ethanol and 2.5 parts glycerin. When dissolved in water, alcohol or treated with acid, a lot of heat is generated. The pH of 0.1mol/L solution is 13.5. Medium toxicity, median lethal dose (rat, oral) 1230mg/kg. Soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in ether. It is extremely alkaline and corrosive, and its properties are similar to caustic soda.

Hydrochloric acid

Hydrochloric acid is an aqueous solution of hydrogen chloride (HCl), which is widely used in industry. Hydrochloric acid is colorless and transparent liquid with strong pungent smell and high corrosivity. Concentrated hydrochloric acid (with a mass fraction of about 37%) is highly volatile, so hydrogen chloride gas will volatilize after the container containing concentrated hydrochloric acid is opened, which will combine with water vapor in the air to produce small drops of hydrochloric acid, causing acid mist above the bottle mouth.

Sodium carbonate

Sodium carbonate is an inorganic compound with a molecular weight of 105.99, also called soda ash, but it belongs to salt, not alkali. Also known as soda or soda ash in international trade. It is an important inorganic chemical raw material, mainly used in the production of flat glass, glass products and ceramic glazes. It is also widely used in domestic washing, acid neutralization and food processing.
