Polyvinylidene fluoride

Polyvinylidene fluoride

Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) is a highly non reactive thermoplastic fluoropolymer. It can be synthesized by polymerization of 1,1-difluoroethylene. Soluble in strong polar solvents such as dimethylacetamide. Anti aging, chemical resistance, weather resistance, UV radiation resistance and other excellent performance. It can be used as engineering plastics, anti-corrosion equipment for sealing rings, capacitors, coatings, insulating materials, ion exchange membrane materials, etc.

name

Polyvinylidene fluoride

alias PVDF
chemical formula (CH2CF2)n CAS No 24937-79-9
appearance White solid Solubility Soluble in strong polar solvents such as dimethylacetamide

Purpose:

It has higher stiffness and pressure bearing capacity than similar PTFE, but its smoothness and electrical insulation are slightly inferior. It has high strength and toughness at low temperature and can extinguish itself. Its working temperature is between - 60 ℃ and+150 ℃. PVDF is stable to chloride, bromide and energy ray. It can be used as engineering plastics. It is used to make sealing rings, corrosion resistant equipment, products for long-term outdoor use, and capacitors. It can also be used as insulating materials, coatings and ion exchange membrane materials.

Functional features:

The maximum allowable working temperature in the air is high (it can work continuously under 150 ℃), with excellent chemical corrosion resistance and hydrolysis resistance, outstanding UV resistance and weather resistance. High mechanical strength, good rigidity, good creep resistance. Good sliding and wear resistance. Inherently low flammability, good electrical insulation performance.
