Purpose:

Applied in wood industry, textile industry, anti-corrosion solution, etc

Physical and chemical properties:

Formaldehyde is usually colorless gas with pungent smell. It is easily soluble in water and ether, and the maximum concentration of aqueous solution can reach 55% [2]. It can be miscible with ethanol, acetone and other organic solvents in any proportion, and is insoluble in petroleum ether. The liquid is easy to be turbid when it is stored for a long time in a cold environment, and the precipitation of trioxane is formed at a low temperature. During evaporation, some formaldehyde escapes, but most of it becomes trimeric formaldehyde.
